Disneyland had discontinued the day of service program
im so bummed! dh and i planned on doing the give a day, get a day thing w disneyland (the one where you do a day of community service and get a free ticket to one of the parks). as i was trying to find info on what programs are included, i got to that page and it says you can no longer earn a day bc they already have had one million people do it.
thats great and all, and im glad so many people vounteered, but im sad that i didnt get to do it. we were planning on taking ellie for her 3rd birthday in december, and thats really the only way we could do it. i think if i start budgeting for it now, i could probably save enough, but its still is very disappointing.
That sucks but keep your eyes pealed. I have ran across so many good deals on the internet as well as some travel agencies offer extrordinary prices. You might want to just have a chat with them too.
thanks ladies for the tips. i never thought of talking to a travel agent bc we live about an hour away so we dont have to do a whole lot to get there.
we were planning on going 2 weeks before dd's birthday, bc her bday is Dec 18, which is the saturday before Christmas, and disneyland will be INSANE that weekend lol. and if we go right before her birthday, she is still free. my birthday is july 4, and i wil be 38 weeks pregnant so we cant go then lol. and dh's bday isnt until january. so maybe we could do a lat celebration, but then we would have to pay for dd so it kinda comes out even.
i know i can get tickets discounted at costco, but that package includes a bunch of stuff we wouldnt normally but, so it may come out to be more expensive that way.
at least iv got time to look into all the option you all listed.
ooh, maybe they do AAA discount. a lot of places do.
thats what i thought too! but apparntly is was only until they got a million people, which they did in 1o weeks

Wow that's odd because they said that for 2010 that was going to be what they were doing. I'm not sure if you can do it but I always check www.retailmenot.com before buying anything online and i would definitely check for amusement park tickets as well.
I would be dissapointed too...but saving up will be good though. I don't even know how much those tickets are. I heard it cost like thousands to go there and have fun. Is that true? I've never been there and would like to take my daughter when she is older. I know she will have the time of her life...so will I
no no no. i think if you are coming from out of state, maybe. and if you are going to walt disney world, its much more expensive than disneyland. we live in north san diego, so it takes about 1 hour 25min to drive there, and in our car that wont cost much in gas. ticket for adults (for the regular one day pass) is $72 and for kids 3-9 its $62.
so if we go before dd's bday, it will cost us about $200 for tickets, gas, and food. we bring sandwiches for lunch and then we will probably get dinner outside the park on our way home. we will get special snacks in the park, and some kind of souvenir (bday present) for ellie, and maybe something for the baby, and thats it.
in all the times ive been there, i have never spent more than $30 in the park bc i dont buy all kinds of stuff. i pick one thing, or we eat at blue bayue(sp?) which is the restaurant that conects to pirates of the carribean. good food, and huge portions, sdefinatly enough to split.
if you want to get in to Club 33, it may cost thousands (thats the super exclusive, 5 year long waiting list, where the celebrities hang out kinda thing)
