So over the years I have seen some people do some weird things to their child's hair including dying, bleaching, and even highlighting. I am not only talking about young teens or those around 9 and so. I am also talking about kids that I have seen as little as 12 months with this done to them. I have even seen a 6 month old with dyed hair cause mom wanted him to look more fit in.

So would you dye, bleach, or highlight a child hair? Please explain your answer.

I would depending on the situation. Example:

My DD is maybe 9-10 years old. She's having GREAT grades and has been doing her shores well, and she asks to dye a SMALL piece of hair. Then I would.

Now if she's younger than that the closest I would get is spray paint thingies, you know the ones you can wash off with water and shampoo?

No. I might let them do the whole koolaid thing to put a little color in it when they are older for fun occasionally, but I certainly wouldn't do it to make them look more like other kids or any crap like that. Crazy

When my son is older I would let him use the spray dyes for spirit day in school and stuff, but no permanant or semi-permanant dyes for my kids under 16. Sorry. I just don't like it. I think it contributes more to the declining self image. Just like the 6 month old who needed to "fit in" he's 6 months old, who is he fitting in with and why is it a problem if he doesn't??

No.. I dont think I will do anything to her hair until she's about 9 or 10.. I think I got my first perm at 9ish.. I wanted curly hair so bad.. I miss my perm and if she wanted a perm or a few highlights I might do it.. But I'm not sure?? My son I might let him highlight his hair once he's around 9 or 10 IF he ask me.. But I wont MAKE him and my daughter I'm not going to even cut her hair until she's older.. I want to trim it once it starts growing but I'm hoping she's going to have the "mexican hair" like my mommy (: and I am SO jealous of her hair. So it really just depends once we get there..

under 9ish, no way.

maybe sprays, or clip in coloured hair, otherwise no. i can't imagine that being healthy for a babies hair!

until they are 13, they're getting no kind of permanent dye. i may get the spray dyes and whatnot, but that's it. i was 15 before i was allowed. i think we should focus more on helping our kids accept themselves than offering them ways to change themselves.

no i wouldnt do it to my kids hair. the only way that would happen with my girls DD almost 3 and SD 6 is if it was the wash out thing like u can do for dress up or halloween. thier hair doesnt need it. its only gonna push them into this messed up society that u have to dye ur hair and get piercings, tats and everything else.they dont need to grow up so fast. but that just my opinion.

HELL no i wouldnt dye my babies hair. Now when she gets older..(teen years) then mayb. i used to dye my hair all the time as a teen. But not a baby, toddler, & 4-15..there is no need for them to have their hair dyed.

Hell no. Hair dye and bleach is SO full of chemicals.

I was allowed to dye my hair when I was 13...I think that's reasonable.

I wont dye my child's hair until 12 or 13. Depending on what she wants done to it. Definetely not a baby!
