Where can my inexperienced 19 year old baby daddy find a job?

We arent living together anymore because he cant find a job (there are obviously more problems, but the job thing was the biggest). And it wasnt just him not having a job, he wasnt looking. Anyway, if he can find a job and do some more growing up we want to try to make our relationship work for our baby girl.

So ive made a list of different places he might be able to get a job at. That is how i found my job-looked up a job category in google and copy/pasted the results into a word document. After i had a pretty big list, i called every single one of them saying the same thing- "Hi, I was just wondering if you were hiring at this time?". Ive got a pretty big list for him to check out, but I feel like there are more categories im not thinking of. He is completly inexperienced, except for pizza and gas stations.

So far i have more gas stations, carpet and floor cleaning, towing and moving companies, janitorial services, oil changer/tire rotator, and painters....these are all things that i figure wouldnt be hard for him to train for. But again, i feel like im missing some. Any ideas?

My boyfriend was 19 when we got pregnant. Only exp was at a movie theatre for 3yrs and Starbucks for 3 months. He got a really good job at a plant as a pad rewinder. I guess that was a lucky break though. It depends on your guy's personality. Whether he's ambitious or not and whether he can make himself look good to the employer at the interview. If he does get an interview somewhere make sure he mentions he has a family to support. I really hope he can man up and find a good job!

Good Luck!

i think he should be doing the leg work. if you do it for him you're only enabling his laziness. give him the list you have now, and see what happens.

You could look for trade type jobs too. My husband got a job as a baker, and it was entry-level he had NO baking experience, so call around those types of places too. My husband also works as a kind of caregiver for mentally handicapped teens, but I'm not sure what category that would fall under. If you live in Utah by any chance, it's called Chrysalis and they hire all the time, everyone. I worked as technical support by phone, but I would not recommend telemarketing or anything associated with it, I hated that job with a passion.

my husband was 17 when we had our son. He worked in a warehouse for 6 months. Then applied at sears and they gave him a job selling appliances. Try everywhere, it never hurts. Be persistent. Fill out the application and call to make sure they recieve it. Go to the place you applied to and talk to the manager. Thats how my husband did it.

sears, lowes, home depot, walmart, target, kmart, if he knows any or a little about cars maybe autozone, advance auto parts, walmart, tire department... if he is good at talking to people and knows about cars autozone u can move up pretty fast but u have to at least know a little... lowes will train on just about anything and is a good place to work..... so if he just dont know much and is not the learning and talking type a bag boy.. these days a JOB is a JOB..

are there walmarts or other stores? they hire teen who have never had a job before so its no big deal to those type of places to hire someone who is not experienced with anything..if he really wants a job he should b the one out finding the job not you..just have him apply everywhere..

Telemarketing/call centre jobs dont take too much experience, but ditto on PP's comment of HATING that job...people are so mean over the phone when they don't have to look at the person they are talking to, and you really ARE trying to do your job the best you can and follow the company's policies!!

Security guards dont usually require much training, and have good job security. Factory work is good as well...I'd check out your local temp agencies, even if the jobs are temporary, they usually have a good selection of different jobs, and it will help him build up his experience and figure out what he likes to do.
