My friend is 19 weeks pregnant with her first baby. Her and her husband have decided not to find out the sex of their little one.  Today though, was their 1/2 way ultrasound.  She just called me and was telling me how the appointment went and that there was some concern.  The DR. found fluid in her babys kidney.  I was just wondering if any of you mamas had babys that had fluid in their kidneys while in utero??  She is nervous but trying not to stress out, and now has to have an ultrasound at every appointment.  If you had a baby that had fluid in his/her kidneys while pregnant do you have some advice I can pass on to her?? And advice for me as a friend to help her and her hubby cope??

i dont have experience witht that particular situation, but my advice to her would be to take it one day, one ultrasound at a time. a lot of times there are issues that resolve themselves during the rest of the pregnancy, and if something is wrong, at least they know now so they can be best prepared to handle it when baby comes.

and sometimes, they THINK they see something that really isnt anything at all.

goods luck to her ad i hope everything turns out well!

I didn't, but my friend did. They have to do some ultrasounds on the baby and she has to see a specialist...but so far, nothing major. The baby's a month old.

Everything will be okay...just tell her to TRY to not stress...it's hard enough being pregnant, and then add that something may (or may not) be wrong. (I know first hand)  But stress isn't good for mother or baby.  Good luck to everyone involved.
