It's not worth getting mad over, because it's not going to stop for a long time.
Ya know, I really don't understand why every young mom gets SOOOOO offended when someone asks how old they are or thinks that they are the baby's older sibling or something like that. Why does everyone take it as an insult? It's really not.
I have the same problem. I'm nineteen and my son is 10 months and my mom is 41 and she looks so young. Everyone always thinks that Jackson is hers whenever we go somewhere together, and then I get the dirty looks. Stupid people
But yesterday I got upset because the waiter didn't even card me! I DO NOT look that old bish! Lmao. I was like damn, I need to get some aging cream or something. That is way more offensive than being mistaken for being younger than you are.
I haven't ever gotten hateful/rude looks or comments even though i was pregnant at 19, I guess I look older (ppl said 23.. i'm only just now 21).. But if it WAS me in your shoes i'd be frustrated but start making it a point to wear 'i love my baby' stuff or talk to him in third person as you get to the checkout or whatever. Instead of 'i' use 'mommy'. lol
AND enjoy it!! It might suck now, but they ain't you! And it means you get to look younger, longer. Imagine what you'll look like at 50 compared to the cashier that just insulted you! haha
eh, i just ignore those comments. most people thought my son is my brother or that i was baby sitting. to make it worse when my younger (by almost 4 years) sister had him they thought he was hers.
