I am 38 weeks on Sat and this baby is trying to come. I am 3 cm dialated and having intense contractions, but nothing that is constant. Doctor says I am ready to have her and need to be more efaced, I dont want to induce I want to do it all naturally...
My Aunt suggested Primrose Oil capsules, I will be taking them Orally only!! But I am curious, has anyone else used them??

Please no bashing and how I should wait, I am just taking other options into consideration. I dont want to be induced by my doctor so I am trying to do it my way, naturally, with LOTS of walking, trying the prego pizza tomorrow ;) ahah very excited to just say I tried it, etc. NO CASTEROL OIL!

I took primrose oil. not sure if it helped but at 38 weeks I was already 5cm and not in labor. LOL and it went very quickly when I was. It doesn't induce labor, just softens the cervix.

i used them for both my pregnancies, but i didn't use it orally. I started it at 38 weeks with my first, she was born at 39 w 4 days. 37 weeks with my second & she was born 37 w 4 days. I also was about 4cm dialated & 70% effaced around 37 weeks with both of them, & was walking, sexing, & other things that "help" baby on it's way. I think they just came when they were ready. Short fast labors & perfect babes, they were ready.

if its safe and doesnt induce, then i say go for it :) I never did anything to try and make my body go into labor or soften my cervix or anything, but hey, youre far enough along and your body is obviously getting ready.

I never had to force myself into labor either. But give it a go and wait and see. Keep walking :)

Thank you Ladies! My Doctor keeps telling me to go up and down stairs, that if I start to show some efacement then I will go into labor in a breeze, lol. its sooo frustrating waiting on one thing. This baby is so uncomfortable, she has no room and gets a temper because of it (lol she throws fits!! they have it on video).. Hopefully my it will just start happening lol.

I tried primrose oil by mouth and vaginally. Vaginally is best because it is the prostaglandins that ripen your cervix ( prostaglandins are also found in semen ). If you do decide to go that route put a towel under you after cause things will get messy! lol. Sorry if TMI. It didn't work for me though and I went 1 week and 1 day overdue. They say a watched pot never boils.. That last month was torture!!

I do not agree with trying to get a baby out before they're ready. The natural way is just waiting. This is just my own opinion though.

Good luck with whatever you try. :)
