i hate myself for it

my son is 11 months old and his dad was in the picture of daltons life then he dropped off the face of the earth im going to be changing his last man. but the fathers family doesnt want me to change it beause there in the life but he has tired to see him but i wont let him because the way he acts and behaves i halgf to think of mt sons life and i dont feel good about my chose but its the best for dalton

Unless dad's not on the birth certificate or has had his parental rights terminated or by some other means has no parental rights you can't change the last name without his consent.

unless hes abusive or a chronic abuser of drugs and or alcohol and is unstable, you need to let him see his son. even if its only for 10 minutes supervised every other day. Your child needs both parents and Ive been there and done that but I realized that just because I'm mad at the dad doesn't mean i have the right to not let him see his son. Think about how you would feel if the tables were turned and you couldn't see your son....... in the long run if you are keeping the father away, he will find out and then your son will be upset at you and you don't want that. I hope everything works out for you. I hate that men don't want to own up fully to there responsibilities. But I'm here for you.message me anytime!hugs
