My son is sick :(

He's 13 months old. He has a fever of 102.2 and a slight cough but I can't do anything about it. The on call pediatrician just said to give him Tylenol and watch him throughout the night. He's so hot I feel like I'm standing in front of a fire. I feel so awful that I can't do anything else. First thing in the morning I'm making him an appointment if he even has a slight fever.

Alternate Tylenol and ibuprofen every couple hours. Keep him in cooler clothes and keep checking him. Does he get ear infections? That is what my son had going on 2 weeks ago, we had to get another prescription for an antibiotic because the amoxicillin that was first prescribed didn't touch his ear infection, now has full double ear infection but fever is gone. There is some weird sickness going around right now!!

aww I know its hard to see, just keep up with the tylonal and pop sickles always help too. He should be ok during the night. It actually helps them to sleep off the fever. Hope he starts feeling better.

Oh, as for the cough, maybe luke warm lemon water? It helped my son a bit.. And since laying down typically makes it worse, either prop him up a bit with a pillow (if your comfortable with that) or sleep in a recliner or something with him on your chest to keep him semi-upright to help ease the coughing.

Thank you so much. I'm hoping he's not really sick and he'll be better in the morning. I hate seeing him sick. It makes me so worried.

All you can do is just be there for him. Kiss him and make him comfortable :) lots of Popsicles and make sure he is getting fluids. That is most important! If he isn't eating to much don't worry he will when he feels better. Just keep pushing fluids! Hope he feels better! Poor litttle guy!
