This. It's going to be hard for a 4 year university to accept a person with a GED next to someone with their hs diploma.

Having a GED would make it more difficult to get into a 4 yr university. A high school diploma will help you on your way towards a masters degree

I got my GED, and it's been fine. I'm doing great in college and abut to get a degree. I have a job, it doesn't make someone less just because they got one.

I got mine because I was pregnant with dd1 and wanted to leave public school, plus here you have to take this dumb end of the year test that I NEVER pass(math section), and I knew that if I took that and failed, I wouldn't graduate so I took the GED instead. I didn't even study and passed the first time. It's not hard.

I said it would make it a little more difficult when it came down to accepting this student or that student. Just curious r u in a 4 year actual UNIVERSITY? Or junior college or one of those Kaplan college accelerated certificate type things

I'd say stay in school. But if you can't possibly graduate for whatever reason, take the GED. It doesn't make you less of a person. Having a child in high school is really hard, I've never had to deal with that, but I've had friends that had children in high school. I never took the SAT/ACT and I graduated from high school. Sure, I may not get into an awesome university but I'll be happy just to get into a community college then transfer to a university. It's often easier to do it that way. :o But good luck in whatever you do (:
