Any thoughts on Mirena?

I just had my DS almost 8 weeks ago and it was a c-section. At my 6 week post-op appointment I sceduled to have my Mirena put in this coming Tuesday. I've researched Mirena but I would still like to hear some opinions about it. Please respond!

I had one for a short time and had no problems with it. If I didn't want to have a baby for years and years, I would get another.

i loved mine until about 8wks ago when i found out i was pregnant with it and it was a whole big feasko to make sure i didnt still have the miraina in and to make sure it wasnt ectopic or tubal aparently i passed the damn thing b/c of the pregnancy but in almost 3yrs time this is the only problem i had with it. this time around im done 3kids mid20s i dont need any kind of birthcontrol thats gonna fail seeing how this is the third kind that has with me. they gonna take things out this time around to make sure it dont happen again.

I just had mine out in the beginning of June this year. Had it for the whole five years. I liked it, it took away my period for months at a time maybe even close to a year. I had three cysts throughout the whole five years. Other than that I had no problems

Did the Mirena cause your cysts? I have history of having bad ovarian cysts. I had to get one surgically removed October 2009 because it was the size of a grapefruit (tmi, sorry.)

I had mine for 3 yrs. Just a few months ago had it removed due to pain during intercourse and absence of my menstrual which i did not like bc of the pain and cramping i had every month when it was due..but never came. Very uncomfortable during intercourse for dh and I bc of the strings. It was very effective as far as birth control goes, but the side effects were just not worth it to me. Everyone is different tho..good luck!

I have had mine for 3 yrs. I like it no real problems with the mirena itself. I have P.O.S and that has caused a lot of problems for me and the birth control has toned it down.

I personally didn't like it. It caused cramping and bleeding that was horrible for 2 months. That is just my experience. I know lots of women which have it and love it. Good luck!
