Is this normal in post-partum recovery?

I have been out of the hospital for about a month. For the past couple weeks, I had stopped bleeding entirely and was only passing a yellowish-whitish discharge that I was told is normal towards the end.

However, all of the sudden yesterday I started to bleed again. Not an alarming amount, but full in color, almost like a lighter period. Then this afternoon I passed a small clot as if I was in the earlier weeks of recovery.

Is this normal or did something get strained, perhaps? I have yet to return to me Doctor, so should I be concerned? I am unsure. Thanks!

This happened to me and I called the dr. She said if it wasn't a lot then not to worry. But I would call your dr just because his/her medical opinion may be different. A phone call won't hurt. You can even ask the nurse that answers the phone.

It's not uncommon. Usually it means you're overdoing it a little.

Yes, you can bleed on and off for several weeks more.

I'd say if it's not heavy don't freak. But if it does get heavy, make sure to go to the doc adapt. My mom had a massive hemorrhage when I was 8 days old.

Well that happened to me i bleed for like 5 weeks postpartum. Then like 2 weeks later bleed again. Turns out my period had started again early. If it continues for a long time go to the doctor. Good luck.

I think I remember something like that happening to me too. It's most likely okay, but it's best to check with the doctor.
