Is this wrong/selfish of me?

Sometimes I wake my 5 year old son up in the middle of the night because I get lonely. It doesn't make him cry or anything. Sometimes I just get scared at night by myself and I want company.'

Does anyone else do the same thing?

Yes I think that's wrong and selfish. You aren't letting your child get the necessary sleep bc you need something.

And it's not just that, but I work and go to school and I hardly get to see him in the day time.

I agree. Being lonely is hard I get lonely a lot too but you need to be happy and content with yourself.

I couldn't agree more. You are putting your wants before your child's NEEDS. if you don't want to sleep alone let him fall asleep alone. But at 5 he should be in his own bed most nights. You might give him sleeping issues later on.

Your 5 year old isn't there to meet your needs....you are there to meet his.

Why not just snuggle him or let him sleep in your bed?
