So, first off, NO bashing one another on the decision you made for YOUR son...

Secondly, what do you think about it? I am on the "NO!" side, but the father of the baby wants it done... I am sticking to my guns, as is he, and we can not agree.

I circ'd my son, because after doing my research, it seemed like the safest and smartest choice. I'm an RN now, and I work labor and delivery and we do circ's on the unit, and I still feel the same way, even stronger now, that it's in the boy's best interest to do it as an infant.

I circumcised two sons before researching it. My third is NOT circumcised.

I learned that all the reasons to circumcise are false.

I did.  My nephew is not and he has had a very  bad infenction... probably his mother's fault but still it helps prevent infection.  My best friend had his done when he was 7 and remembers it being the worst pain ever.  I'd rather them have it done when they won't remember, then in the case of an emergency later.

My older ds is circumcised because his dad and I wanted it done. The only issue we hsbe had from that is that the loose circ has partially reattatched.
My younger ds is intact and his never had any issue at all.

We were in the same boat as you, I didn't want it done but my husband did. Once our son was born, my husband had a change of heart and said he didn't want it done.

After doing a ton of research, no I did not have my son circ. There's no need for it really. I don't see a 1% benefit as all that beneficial.

No--    not MY body to alter, and it's too dangerous anyway.

Why does he want to do it?

You are probably aware of the unnecessary risks but maybe he is uninformed. ?

My sons are intact. It is their body.

If we'd had a son, he would be circumcised. His dad is, and it was a simple decision. If SO was not circumcised, our child wouldn't be either.

I think you should educate him on the risks. Not just "I read this" but actually showing him articles to read, watching videos, or speaking with a doctor.
