Is drooling a sign of teething?

My Mom says it is.

My son is drooling a lot. So much so I need to put little bibs on him all the time. He is 3 months.

He is extremely fussy. And whiney.

Does this sound like teething. How can I help him? What do you do?

Yes generally it is. I suggest a cold teething toy or frozen rag. If he's extremely uncomfortable infant's Tylenol. The excess drool can upset their tummy too so gas drops or gripe water might help.

I think drooling is a sign! It was for my girls.

I used baby orajel and sometime tylenol if they got a fever.

Yes, it can be.  Try some orajel if your little one is in pain.  Teethers are great too, especially when cold.

Poor little guy. My first was a huge drooler, I'd keep a paci in his mouth just to prevent the trail of spit that would follow him around. I bet he is teeting. A little orajel on the gums or maybe some orajel tabs might help.

Good luck!

It sure can be. My girls drooled like crazy when they were teething, but a little Orajel set them to rights and helped stop some of the drooling (although sometimes it made it worse, lol).

Sure seems that way with mine. If there's any fussiness with the drooling, too, then try some Orajel.

Yes, I think it is either a sign of teething or illness.  I'd give the orajel a try.
