Do you trust your child's doctor?

Do you trust that your child's doctor is making the best treatment choices for him? If you have questions, are you able to ask them and get answers that make you feel good? Would you ever be hesitant to ask for a 2nd opinion or a referral to a specialist even if your doctor didn't think the issue was "a big deal"?

I trust him for medical stuff mostly (not nutrition, sleep, etc) but I know my children best so if I don't agree then I do what I need to do.

Yes, I trust both of my kids' pediatricians (it used to be a single doctor practice, but he took on a partner last year, and we see both.) They're both great at asking good questions, explaining their views when prescribing treatments, and are great at answering questions. I left a local pediatric practice because they prescribed medication for everything, didn't explain why, and always gave me the run-around when I wanted a second opinion. Runny nose? I'm prescribing Zyrtec. "Why?" Oh, you don't have to fill the prescription if you don't want to. >.> Yeah. No. We drive the hour and a half to go to our other ped.

I trust our pediatrician in most aspects.  I do disagree with her on some things and I bring in my research and show it to her.  Occasionally, I have been able to change her opinion and they way she handles things.

Of course, I wouldn't take my kids to her if I didn't. However, I'm a nurse and my husband is a pediatrician, so we don't blindly follow anything and are well versed in general when it comes to health.
