my son was eating 8oz at 3 months, four or 5 times a day. he also had cereal 2 or 3 times a day. we introduced baby food at 4 months and he was fine with it.

Girl if he is eating 6 oz then give the boy 6 oz :)  He'll let you know when he is full or hungry. And about the solids...its all up to you. Personally I started Michael when he was about 3 months or so...he was starting to sleep through the night too :) hope this helps :)

well it is about that time for your baby to start wanting more.  Your babies doctor should tell you what and when to start introducing food and the first food you do is the baby cereal and you put a little of that in their milk and widen the nipple a bit so the cereal can come out to.  You don't give them bananas and applesauce until later.  Giving them things too soon can mess them up a bit.  As your pediatrician and they can help you a lot more.  Good luck!!!!

If he is still hungry after you feed him try giving him some baby cereal. That will help fill him up, and it will also help him sleep longer at night. The baby food like the friut in the jars you can go ahead and give him just make sure it is stage one you are giving him the other stages this early could upset his stomache.

My daughter is only a month old and she is eating 4 oz. Maybe she is just a pig...i don't know! I would give him the 6 oz if he eats it and isn't spitting it up. My friend's son is 3 months and he eats 6 oz....so 6 oz sounds about right for a 3 month old. If he wants it give it to him...I don't see any harm in it.

if he wants 6oz then you should give it to him, he'll keep increasing his feedings as he gets bigger, but all the books i have read and with my past experience with 2 kids, they say you should hold off on solids until 4 months, and start with watery rice cereal, and then one by one introduce other baby foods, so if he is allergic you can tell which one he is allergic to

Jaelyn was eating 7 ounces at 3 months as well as oatmeal twice a day from the time she was about 6 weeks old and a we started fruits and vegetables at 3 months also... If he's hungry then give it to him... your doctor will tell you next month at your appointment if he's gaining too fast...

i was feeding my daughter 4oz  until she was 1 year old! i have tried filling the bottle up to 6oz and she would always leave 2oz in the bottle! everyone was always telling me that i needed to start feeding her more, but i can't force her to finish a 6oz bottle. she always drank 4oz no matter what i did or what anybody said. so, i think it's normal if you haven't increased his feedings yet. if the 4oz isn't keeping him full for at least every 3 hours than i would increase it to 5oz every 3 hours to see if that works, if that doesn't work, i'd fill up an 8oz bottle to see how much he drinks. and if he only drinks the 6oz then i would start feeding him 6 oz.  it all depends on the baby.

i started feeding my baby rice cereal when she was 4 months old and then when she was 6 months old i started giving her the stage 1 baby food.

My sons dr. kept telling me to feed him if he wants it. Don't force it on him, but if the kid is hungry, I say feed him. And yes, 4 months sounds right about the time to start in a little bit of solid foods. Although let the child decide too. Maybe slip him a little here or there and see if he likes it and if he takes to it. If so, he may just keep eating more, and you know he likes it. Just make sure to check w/ the doc on what you can and can't feed him.

i really didn't listen to the doctors lol. my daughter is almost 6 months old and drinks 6 oz 4 times a day and has rice cereal and pears for breakfast and some kinds of food for lunch and another kind of food for supper. and she sleeps completely through the night and she's not a "fat" baby either. she's 6 months and weighs 15 pounds. i started given her solid foods at 3 months and rice cereal at 2. and at 2 months old when i started given her that rice cereal is when she started sleepin completely through the night. so yesss if he wants 6 oz then give it to him.
