Welcome to the children's health issues group!  Please feel free to introduce yourself here, and share what issues you are dealing with right now.

My name is Amber, I have a four year old son and a one year old daughter.  My daughter was born with a large hole in her heart, and that has to be watched very closely.  My son at nine months had to have surgery for another issue, so I know how scary it can be to have your child having to face surgery!  I am looking forward to getting to know and being a support to all you moms!

  • Hi Amber.  Great board you have done here.  This will help so many moms.  I know I feel helpless with just run of mill things, much less major things.  My middle son was early and had to say in teh NICU for a week with pnuemonia and that was scary.  I could not imagine more then that.  I look forward to helping and supporting moms in need with you.

  • Hi  Amber.  I was so happy to find this board this morning. It is difficult to find all my old haunts here, but slowly I am.  My name is Ann and I am a SAHM of 2 boys.  Currently we are not dealing with any health isus but the common cld, but with my oldest I know that won't last.  He seems to pick up odd things.  M youngest has luckly been healthy.  His oddest thing is something called HSP,I don't remeber what the the letter stand for, but it is an autoimmune issues that caused papur (red bumps) to form, can cause joint pain, and possible kidney issues.  If he is clear for a year then he is good.  6 more months to go.  Like I said he can't get many normal things

  • My name is Jennifer, and my son Robby is developmentally delayed, and I also have a 4 year and a 17 year, both boys.  Robby has had lots of tests, and we have no diagnosis yet, he is farsighted and is suppose to wear glasses, but has refused them since he had eye surgery in May.  It is easier to give my cat a bath, that get glasses on Robby!!!

How is your little one doing now?  That can be really scary!  My little one was born with one large hole in her heart... she has not needed surgery, and hopefully it will stay that way.  Thanks for joining us!  I am sure you will be a great help to moms here... and if you need anything let us know!

  • WinkHi to all!

I am the recently single mom of two special needs boys who each have multiple disabilities. Zach is 10 and has been diagnosed with: Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, tics, Bipolar Disorder, bladder spasms, chronic and severe allergies, insomnia, and has faced many reactions to medications that required emergency treatment. Riley is 8, and has been diagnosed with Autism, Type I Diabetes, a Seizure Disorder, Reflux, and insomnia. In Sept of 2006, Riley slipped out of the house and we found him minutes later in our neighbor's pool. He was blue. I had to perform CPR until rescue teams could arrive. Riley did have a pulse and was trying to breath on his own by the time the ambulance arrived. He made a miraculous recovery. Our first night in ICU, we faced the possibility of needing a ventilator, but not only was life support not needed, by day two, Riley was walking the halls asking for pizza and spaghetti. We have seen more than our share of miracles at our house, however; we have also seen more than our share of trials as well. I am looking for friendships, encouragement and support. My aim is to  give and receive in all regards. I look forward to chatting with each of you.

    Lots of Love,
    Michelle
