My one huge weekness is COFFEE..(I allow myself one cup a day) (i get up extra early before the kids get up so I can actually enjoy every sip) .I love it and can't live w/out it. So this morning I got up and started my coffee, toasted a bagel and started writing in my journal the nutrition info for each item I was consuming........I love those liquid International Creamers (over in the dairy section that come in all of those yummy flavors) well I looked at the "nutritional" info on the back and about passed out
In a serving (which is 1T of creamer) there are 45cal, 2g Fat, 7 carbs, 6g Sugar. well that isn't even the worst part ....I measured how much I usually put in my coffee.....it equals 3T.....so that makes it 135 cals, 6g Fat,21 carbs, and 18 g of Sugar......no wonder I wasn't losing weight (and that doesn't include the extra regular sugar I was adding.
My point to this horrendously long post is that if we start checking the labels on things we will be surprised at how many useless calories we can actually cut out of our daily routine just by doing small things like using half of the creamer (or switching to a Fat free one) or using Splenda instead of regular sugar.
I am really going to try my hardest to cut back in small ways and see if it makes a big impact.
