Breastfeeding Moms - I need to hear from you
I would like to put together something to encourage moms to breastfeed. I love the 101 Reasons to Breastfeed from promom, but I would like something that has a bit more emotion to it.
I would like to compile a list for the moms that approach me wanting to stop breastfeeding to formula feed to lose weight or not nurse all together.
Please share those sweet moments or your reasons for breastfeeding, how long you nursed and reason for weaning when you did.
- I can still remember my first daughter as a newborn. While looking to nurse, she would bob her head like a baby chick. My second used to spin her hand on my chest while nursing because she liked to feel the texture of my skin. My baby boy would fall asleep right away. My daughter called it the magic breast that put her baby brother to sleep.
- I nursed each of my babies until they were atleast 24 months to help them bring in their molars.
- I weaned my 1st at 24 months because I had lost 90 pounds and had my body back and nursing became awkward. My 2nd was only 23 months when my son was born and she regressed, so I nursed her until 34 months. Then, my son, my sweet baby boy just stopped nursing at 34 months. He is our last baby, so it is bittersweet. I was really on the fence about this decision. I encourage moms to let their babies wean themselves, but ladies, I believe he would've kept on `til he was 12! LOL (feeling guilty - 7 days into it and he still asks me for it) :(
Thanks SO much in advance!
Blessings!
