What's new this year for your farm?

Do you have any new ventures on your farm for this year? Are you trying something new or expaning an activity?

I'd love to hear what your plans for this season are....

For us the "big project" is actually our yard. We're trying to get grass to grow and we want raised beds for the garden ... it's a lot of work but I think it'll be worth it. Anyone else "container garden" in a raised bed?

Well we are planning on trying a ton of new stuff this year (this is our first year actually doing anything besides living there).
We are:
getting chickens,
getting rabbits,
growing a veggie garden,
and Dh wants to get piglets, but I am not so sure yet.

Our venture this year is completely new. My boyfriend and I are getting ready to move to our 600 acre Montana Ranch. We have a farm in oregon where we raised cattle horses and hay. We have sold all of our cows and we are going to buy more once we get to montana. We are planning on moving there mid spring. So not only are we going to have to get used to an all new climate but we are going to be building a house, teaching our daughter about snakes and badgers,  building a barn but we are going to be making hay, redoing all the fences and hopefully we'll be able to have time to take care and buy more cattle and explore. So much to do this year, so little time and already this year is flying by. I have some pictures of our Montana property on my page if anyone wants to take a look.

My parents own a feedstore where I grew up and any spoiled grain I would take home and feed to the pigs, if you can get a hold of some it would be alot cheaper if not free. I also suggest getting two or three pigs. If you have more than one pig they will grow faster and bigger because they compete for food and try to eat more than the other one. Also you don't want them to have a lot of space to run around and work of their fat.
