I just ran across my son's 2nd grade teacher on Facebook...tell me, is this an appropriate picture for a teacher to have posted on a public website?!!!???? Should I report it to the school????
Something tells me it's just not appropriate for a 40something teacher to have a picture posted like this on a website that her students are able to see!!!!
Hmmm.... I have decided long ago to not judge a book by its cover. I am on Facebook too...though I don't posts photos of myself on my profile, you have to be my friend to see my personal photos. I have many teacher friends and my SIL is a teacher, although I believe this may be a little suggestive with the pose, I can't really think it is anything morally wrong, perhaps just a judgement call type of thing?. Teachers are people too, hopefully she is a great teacher with just a funny /odd sense of humor, maybe that would explain the photo? I am not sure what is appropiate anymore with the way folks behave these days, plus with only 1 photo to go by it is a hard call. To me this looks like some sort of Glamour Shot Photography, perhaps she just liked the way she looked and that is all it is?
I see your point but I also agree with the pp. Just because you're a teacher doesn't mean that you don't have a life outside of your role as a teacher. I'd say as long as her behavior in the classroom and in situations around her students and the students parents is appropriate than there is nothing to be concerned about. This reminds me a little of my husbands work situation. He's the herds man for a small dairy farm that is owned and run by an older couple. Both the husband and wife are very involved in the milking and everything and the wife does a lot of the decision making. If it were up to her my hubby wouldn't be allowed to have any cattle of his own or be allowed to be around other livestock because he might bring in disease to their cows. I can understand this to a point, like if there was a very contagious disease going around in the other cows that he would be around or something like that. But she has no right to tell my hubby that he cannot have cattle/livestock of his own because he might bring illness to their farm. To me that's crossing a line. Sorry I got off track here! But I'd say as long as there is no inappropriate behavior than there's nothing to worry about, but I'd definitely keep it in the back of my mind.
