We are trying something new this year. I'm keeping the Christmas tree up and it will be our January tree this month decorated with snowflakes and snowmen.
February - Valentines
March - St Patricks Day/ little green clovers
April - crosses, eggs, chicks
May - Flowers
June - any ideas?
July - Independence Day
August - any ideas?
September - back to school stuff ?
October - Pumpkins, gourds, indian corn
November - Turkeys, pilgrims, Thanksgiving stuff
December - Christmas tree
I've seen this done where a mom asks the kids one question each month, then writes their answers on an "ornament" (paper shape) for the month's theme... each year, she puts up last year's ornaments and this year's comparing answers.
For example: In September, she asks, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The kids read past answers to see how their dreams have changed.
