Welcome to Christian Celebrations!
My name is Kristina. I am the mother of 2 delightful girls. When my husband and I first married, we committed to celebrate holidays in ways that kept the focus on Christ. We have had fun finding traditions to pass on to our children.
My favorite traditions are the Christian Seder at Easter and our Special Ornaments on our Christmas Tree.
I am looking forward to meeting everyone in this new group!
Please invite your friends to join the celebration!
Hey I'm Ali - I'm 37 and live in New Zealand with my 13 year old daughter, and my son who will be 11 next month and our german shepherd Kaiser.
When my marriage ended I decided to start some "new" traditions to reflect our new life - my children just love them, even though they're getting older now :) One thing I do is to go into the city (we live in the largest city) on Christmas Eve and shop - it's something my Dad used to do with me, to shop for Mum. We'd spend hours in town, had morning tea and lunch there, then went back to his place of work and wrapped the presents in boxes that he'd made into strange shapes so Mum couldn't work out what the present was lol. My children shop for me on Christmas Eve (my Christmas shopping is all done!!).
We also have the Christmas advent candles on our table in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
We have little knitted Christmas stockings on our tree - they were knitted for me by my late Grandma who died before my children were born. Well on Christmas Eve after the children have gone to bed, I fill the little stockings with candy canes and the children wake in the morning and although they know it's no longer "Santa" who did that lol, they still love the tradition.
And on Christmas Eve we sit around the tree with fizzy drink, home-made Christmas cake and fruit-mince tarts, listen to music, and talk about our year - the highs and lows and especially the things that we're thankful to God for ... just to name a few of our traditions :)
I look forward to meeting you and sharing - this looks like a fabulous group :)
