Hi Ladies -
I was looking to hear feedback on anyone who has used a DAN! Dr. I'd like to hear both all the good and bad. We have been using one since June, and our outcome has been great. We are doing different 'phases' with the Dr. and just finished our gastrointestinal restoration piece and we are continuing on Nutritional Supplementation and will be starting detox in the next month (my son tested high for some toxins - lead, flame retardants, to name some). His teacher called me a couple of weeks ago and said "I really don't see ANY signs of ADHD with your son - he's doing great in school and is such a nice boy." I did not tell her we were trying this new 'therapy'. I guess I'm just wondering if we are just LUCKY that this works, or if others have had this type of success.
I HAVE NOTHING BUT POSITIVE EXPERIENCES WITH MY DAN DOCTORS!!! They have been a God-send for my children and this family.
DS has been under the care of one since 2005 and my daughter just started over the summer. DS has been rid of his ADHD diagnosis and DD's symptoms (non ADHD) had cleared up within 2 weeks of starting treatment. Mainstream docs were not only unable to help my children in any way, but they were insulting and condescending when I questioned their judgment, knowledge, and approach in dealing with my children's specific issues. My DAN docs actually converse with me and truly understand what is taking place with my kids and how to effectively treat the root causes, not just their symptoms. I posted a journal on my page re: this very topic.
I wish you continued success.
Hi all;
Could someone explain to me what a DAN! Doctor is? I don't think I have ever heard that term before.
thanks!

A quick overview - A DAN! Dr. (stand for Defeat Autism Now), does biomedical treatment (using supplements and vitamins specific to your child), and work with many ADHD children as well. They also test for toxins in your child's system - such as lead, mercury, etc. and come up with a course of action to eliminate from their body. Healthy diet is also important. Some DAN! Dr.'s are strictly against meds (such as stimulants), but some are not. They are VERY well versed in ADHD and Autism and look for the root of the problem rather than just treating symptoms.
