Are there any Debbie Macomber fans out there? I simply love her books. They seem so real life and not out there over the top!

She's wonderful.  Last year I met her at a conference here in Seattle and she's amazing, personable, just a wonderful and warm woman.  Check out Brenda Novak's Jr. Diabetes Auction:

Lunch With Debbie Macomber and the radio personality Delilah in Port Orchard, WA (at a mutually acceptable time and place)!

Wow!

And just who is Debbie Macomber? Well, if you don't already know... Debbie Macomber, the author of BACK ON BLOSSOM STREET, SUSANNAH’S GARDEN, A GOOD YARN, THE SHOP ON BLOSSOM STREET, BETWEEN FRIENDS and the Cedar Cove series, is one of today’s leading voices in women’s fiction. Her work has appeared on every major bestseller list, including those of the New York Times, USA TODAY and Publishers Weekly.

Debbie's May release.  She also is having a great contest on her website.......checkit out!
Quote:

Even the most hard-hearted readers will find themselves rooting for the women in this hopeful story while surreptitiously wiping away tears and making their own list of wishes." —Booklist

"A gentle and uplifting story . . . It's impossible not to cheer for Macomber's characters, and there's a story in this book for a woman of every age. When it comes to creating a special place and memorable, honorable characters, nobody does it better than Macomber." —Book Page

Description

Anne Marie Roche wants to find happiness again. At thirty-eight, her life's not what she'd expected - she's childless, a recent widow, alone. She owns a successful bookstore on Seattle's Blossom Street, but despite her accomplishments, there's a feeling of emptiness.

On Valentine's Day, Anne Marie and several other widows get together to celebrate . . . what? Hope, possibility, the future. They each begin a list of twenty wishes, things they always wanted to do but never did.

Anne Marie's list starts with: Find one good thing about life. It includes learning to knit, doing good for someone else, falling in love again. She begins to act on her wishes, and when she volunteers at a local school, an eight-year-old girl named Ellen enters her life. It's a relationship that becomes far more involving than Anne Marie intended. It also becomes far more important than she ever imagined.

As Ellen helps Anne Marie complete her list of twenty wishes, they both learn that wishes can come true - but not necessarily in the way you expect.

I really like Debbie Macomber and have read several of her books, and Christmas special stories. She really has a great way to tell a story.  Doesn't she have a new book out?  Do you know what her new book title is?  Your friend, Judyg727

I got SUSANNAH’S GARDEN last year on vaccation and just can't get into it.  I actually think it is pretty boring.   Am I missing something??

I also enjoy reading her work.

When you have a special needs child, it is like floating in the ocean. You will have highs when you ride the top of the wave and move forward and lows when the wave crashes over you and sucks you back. As you are riding a low wave of sadness, frustration & disappointment, just keep in mind the next wave will take you back up and move you forward once more.
