Hi all,
Let me say straight off, that I am a novelist, and I write for two publishers and one of those publishers is Harlequin. Let me also say that nearly all of my friends are romance writers and amazing women (and moms).
You'd think that because I write romance novels (and women's fiction) for a living, I wouldn't want to read it in my free time but you're wrong. I love romance, and I read everything....from paranormal (think Christine Feehan) to historical romance (like Stephanie Laurens and Eloisa James) to contemporary sexy romances (i.e. Carly Philips).
But the problem with discussing romance novels with my author friends is that they're....authors...and we can't seem to get a good juicy discussion going. Instead we end of talking shop, like how to write better, or what our editor or agent wants us to do. So I've started a book group here at CafeMom for moms who love to read, and chat about, the books they're reading.
Please jump in, post, introduce yourself. It's lonely being the only one here!

Hi,
My name is Angela and I have been reading romance stories since forever. I am also an aspiring romance writer but my life hasn't allowed me to do too much of it write now. The only writing I do get to do is for college.
I thank, I believe it is Jenn for the tip on the books by Keri Arthur. If you know of anymore books like this let me know.
I really can't say that I have a favorite author, because I just love to read.
I will be reading these books and telling you how much I love them.

Hi, Jane, Lee and all! Like some of you I also "followed the bread crumbs" to this site. I think is going to be a great forum and look forward to hearing about new books, new authors and what everyone is reading. My TBR pile is shameful!
Right now I have (4) to read:
Susan Malalery's Marcelli Princess
Roxanne St. Claire - Take Me Tonight
Lucy Monroe's Satisfaction Guaranteed
Ann Roth's, Another Life
Just last night I finished two fairly new Presents authors books......Abby Green's The Brazillian's Blackmailedcc Bargain and Annie West's The Sheikh's Ransomed Bride. WOW is all I can say!

Kesha
Wow! How cool to see so many new faces here! Looks like we're going to have some fun. :) ::waving hello to everyone!::
Kesha, I just picked up book 3 in Keri's new series. I have the first two in my tbr. Now my goal is to actually juggle time and read them in a row. I tend to read books in order if I know they're a series.
Are any of you finicky like that?
I'm also a huge fan of JR Ward. How would you compare Keri's series to JR's? I've not read the former ever so I just wondering about that.

I, too, am very picky about reading series in order. I will not read them out of order because then it's hard to know what's going on if you don't read the first book and go on to the second or third, so much has already happened and you're kind of clueless- even when the author has little recaps.

I can't tell you how good that makes me feel! I know a lot of readers and most of them don't have a problem reading out of order. I totally relate to that 'recap' part. I was reading an older category (Harlequin) romance last month which I later realized was part of a series. I know I'll be hunting high and low for all the books in that series now! My husband thinks I'm crazy, but then again, he's not obsessed with books like I am.

It is so nice to find a group of women just like me. My name Aina, I am 27, I have 3 kids and am a SAHM. I love reading romance novels. My husband calls them my dirty little books. LOL! I love Sil. Desire and Romance. I also like the Blaze series. A few of my favorite authors are Maureen Child, Amy J. Fetzer and Cathie Linz. I really love the stories that have to do with the military men, considering I am married to a Marine, it makes sense. I am also in the process of writing just like a few of the other women on here. I have started 4 different romance books, and I also am putting together a book about Autism written by Mothers for Mothers. I am so happy to be here and cant wait to talk and share with all of you.

OH - Lee - I did read The Kouvaris Marriage and I remember I really enjoyed it, but I'll have to look back at it to be able to remember the specifics.
-Jenn
(I fixed this post so it would look *normail*)
Hi Jenn,
I really enjoyed THE KOUVARIS MARRIAGE... to refresh your memory, it's about Maddie Ryan and Dimitri Kouvaris... she does a landscaping job for a friend who's married to a rich Greek and Dimitri meets her in the garden... she mistakes him to be a laborer looking for work but he's actually there to talk business with her friend's husband... there's a whirlwind courtship and wedding but then 3 months later she learns why he really married her...
Ring any bells? It was a very entertaining read especially if you love Greek heroes like I do. I love the Presents line passionately. Are any of you, besides Jane, strong Presents fans?
What about Silhouette Desire? Any of you read those? I like that line too. In fact, I'm just starting Barbara Dunlop's April book, THE BILLIONAIRE'S BIDDING. It's got a goregous cover!

A little bit about me: My name is Danielle. I'm 33 years old and have been married for 15 years. I'm a stay at home mom with 4 children- although why they call it stay at HOME mom I'll never know but I'm always going somewhere. Anyway, I'm an aspiring romance novelist and I, too, love to read romance. .....
Currently I have one book out with a publisher and I'm working on revisions for that book so hopefully it'll be in print sometime in the near future. YAY!!
Hey Danielle, that's fantastic news! What genre/line are you targetting? I'm aiming for Presents myself but have lacked the motivation (and time??) to finish the book!
I'll keep my fingers crossed you get great news from your publisher! Do keep us posted. :)

Lee, I'm targeting the SuperRomance line at Harlequin but the book I'm working on revisions for is over at The Wild Rose Press. I'm hoping for good things but what aspiring author isn't? LOL Thanks for the good wishes.
As for liking the sillhouette Desire, Blaze and presents lines, I love them. My favorite are the Super Romance but I'll read just about anything from harlequin. The only line I don't read is the Nocturn line because I'm not much into vampires and such.
