Hi all,
Let me say straight off, that I am a novelist, and I write for two publishers and one of those publishers is Harlequin. Let me also say that nearly all of my friends are romance writers and amazing women (and moms).
You'd think that because I write romance novels (and women's fiction) for a living, I wouldn't want to read it in my free time but you're wrong. I love romance, and I read everything....from paranormal (think Christine Feehan) to historical romance (like Stephanie Laurens and Eloisa James) to contemporary sexy romances (i.e. Carly Philips).
But the problem with discussing romance novels with my author friends is that they're....authors...and we can't seem to get a good juicy discussion going. Instead we end of talking shop, like how to write better, or what our editor or agent wants us to do. So I've started a book group here at CafeMom for moms who love to read, and chat about, the books they're reading.
Please jump in, post, introduce yourself. It's lonely being the only one here!

Hi! Thanks for the opportunity to join your book club. I love to read. I am 35 years old. I have been married for 11 wonderful years. I have 3 children. I work full time outside of the home. My husband stays at home to take care of our kids.
I love to read just about anything. I love a good romantic thriller. Some of my favorite authors are Linda Howard, Heather Graham, Nora Roberts, Julie Garwood.
I also love a good regency romance. I love Johanna Lindsey , Kathleen Woodiwiss and Catherine Coulter.

I was just scrolling through and realized that I never introduced myself. lol. Well, my name is Tabbie. I love to read in my down time. My favorite books are romantic suspense or historical romances. I do have to say that I am curious as to your books, Jane. Let me know some titles or something and I can purchase some. :) I will read ANYTHING. I started out reading Carrie, by Steven King, when I was 12. And it just went from there.
I am married to a wonderful man, and I have a beautiful little girl. She will be 3 on October 28th.
My favorite author, so far, is Linda Lael Miller. She has amazing writing talent. I think I have read 40 of her books. lol.
Okay, I guess that is all for introducing my self.
OH! I am 24 and will be 25 in October. :D

I would love to be part of this group. I love reading all types of books...but romance novels are an escape for me. I love Nora Roberts, Lisa Kleypas, Suzanne Brockman, Stephanie Laurens, Jayne Ann Krentz, and Beatrice Small to name a few. I also enjoy writing myselft...but don't have the time to write a novel or the skin thick enought to withstand any rejection.

If you like romantic thrillers, you might want to try Lisa Jackson. She is a really good author but you have to be careful with her books. She has reoccuring characters. A character who is a secondary character in one book might become a primary character in another book. But like I said, her books are REALLY REALLY good!!

Just wanted to say hello to all the new members who have joined in the past week or so. I've been on deadline to get a book finished by Labor Day so I haven't been online as much or reading...which makes me crazy. :)
But this is your romance book group so chat away, start new topics, jump in on existing topics. Just have fun and enjoy!

I just joined cafemom yesterday and found this group today. I'm excited to see this group here. Like Jane, I want to be up front about the fact that I'm an author, but I'm also an avid reader!!! I'm a gazillion years behind in my "To Be Read" stack, currently reading "My Big Old Texas Heartache" by Geralyn Dawson.

Hi, everyone. I write romance too. But since I have no time to do much writing or reading, I thought reading posts here might help me feel connected with my old self-- before baby. Skhye

Hi everyone. I am so excited about this group. I am so addicted to reading. I read the latest Harry Potter book in 3 days. It's not an easy task, being that I have a 2 yr old son. I have been going to the library and checking out about 4 books at a time. There are the authors I am really into right now:
-Debbie Macomber (love her and I can't seem to put any of her books down. she sucks me in every time. lol)
-Susan Wiggs
-Barbara Delinsky
-Sheryl Woods
I just finished reading my first Nora Roberts book the other night. I have no clue why I haven't read any of her stuff before. It was a great book. O'Hurley's Return is what it was called. It's actually 2 shorter stories in one book. My absolute fave though is Debbie Macomber. Like I said, I can't put her books down. I have read a couple of the Cedar Cove series books, and I plan on getting all the rest, but the library doesn't have them all. Anyways, nice to meet you all.
