I was wondering if any of you ladies had some good, natural makeup removers?

I use soap and warm water, but it hardely removes any of the makeup.

I use waterproof eyeliner from N.Y.C.

And I use waterproof mascara from Cover Girl, it's fantastic lash.

I can't seem to get this makeup off with anything lol.

Any ideas on what I should try? I didn't really want to go out and by makeup remover. But if I have to I will.

  • I just ran out of the Estee Lauder stuff I got in a free gift bag a while back, and am back to using my CoverGirl stuff. Both work well, but the CoverGirl stuff is oilier. I always have to wash my face afterwards to get all the makeup and remover completely off.

In a pinch I have used lotion to loosen the eye makeup before washing it off.

Maybe you could try an oil? Olive oil? It seems like the oiliness of a product is what helps pull the water-proof stuff off. *shrugs*

  • You need something more powerful to remover waterproof anything. I started using the Rimmel eye makeup remover and it's fantastic! No oil, non-greasy. I say try it and see how you like it. Oh, I bought it at Wal Mart for $5

  • you should always wash your face after using an eye makup remover. Leaving the product on without washing it off can clog pores and make you break out, whether or not all the make up came off with the remover.

  • I think I've heard of using olive oil as a natural makeup remover, but research that first! lol

I use Pond's Cold Cream.  It doesn't burn my eye if I get any in it, it removes the make-up, and I like you soft my skin feels after.

  • Thank you! I can't do $5, that's pretty cheap :)

uhhhhm...yeah. Didn't I say I wash it off? I was just stating that even w/ a makeup remover, I still need the cleanser and water to get it all off. The remover is just one step in the process.

  • I use baby oil, put it on a cotton ball and wipe it across my eyes to remove that make up then wash with soap and water. If I am out of baby oil I will get a wash rag put it under the faucet of pure hot water and let it set on my eyes for about 5-10 minutes and it breaks up the mascara pretty well then wash like normal. Baby oil just works faster and better for me.

  • No offense but that is SCARY that you can't get makeup and mascara off even with soap and water!  To be honest what the heck do they use in the product where it will not come off and if it is mascara are your lashes coming off with it??  I don't think so.....

Try to stay with 1 brand of makeup and the same brand of makeup remover and or skincare.  For example Mary Kay's cleanser is formulated to remove our products, Mary Kay eye makeup remover is formulated to remove our makeup but will and has removed other eye shadows and mascara.

I haven't heard of anything really natural except a remover wth mineral oil in it which is what we use in our eye makeup remover.
