What made you decide to homeschool? My Korean husband and I live in Korea and are eager to homeschool our 5-year-old daughter. She has almost finished one year of kindergarten at a very good Korean Christian kidergarten and will strat a second year of kindergarten in March. I would like to take her out and start her on first-grade English homeschool but she loves her school. While the school can offer many programs and activites I cannot, it doesn't have as much Bible study as we would like. And I miss her when she's at school. Honestly, I'm a bit jealous of her teacher because I want to watch her learn and be the one to teach her new things. I wonder if these are reason enough to homescool. Is just wanting her with me enough? What if she misses her school? Any advice would be great!!
Thanks! Laura
HOmeschooling is still technically illegal here but the govt' just overlooks it. There is a Christian HOmeschoolers organization that has conferences and offers support. My daughter has good friends at church and there are tons of after school academies like ballet, art, music, etc. The real trouble will be my husband's family. They will be totally against it. Education is the NUMBER ONE thing here. Since our daughter is bi-lingual we think she needs more than what she would get in school. We are pretty sure we will start homeschooling next month so I'm getting nervous!
