Is anyone using "My Father's World" curriculum?

We are looking for an affordable Christian curriclum. I've looked at MFW and it looks great. I'd love to hear what other moms think - positives/negatves.

Another lady posted that there are no tests. Do you make your own tests? It's not a big deal for first grade but when she's in later grades won't she need some tests?

2 moms liked this

I love this curriculum!  My kids love this curriculum.  I don't really worry about tests.  If I know they know the material, then I'm ok with moving forward.

Ditto. The plus for me is teaching multiple grade levels at one time - HUGE time saver and its a fun time for them to learn together :)

I almost used it last year, but when I got the books, I was really overwhelmed. The lack of tests doesn't bother me. The only think I test my kids in is math.

I have a friend who uses it with her kids (5th and 8th grade). I ordered some things from them, but not the whole curriculum. I think it is kinda pricey. I am using "Horizons" for now. Most people I know who use it have older kids (at least 4th grade). I am not too impressed of the curriculum for the younger grades. Once your kids are in 4th grade the curriculum looks pretty good to me.

I have never looked in to it but I put together: everything is Christian based:
Learning language arts though literature (common sense press)
Saxon math
Story of the world (history)
Spelling workout
Exploring creation (science)
We also do memory verse each week and we have Asl video (sign language)
Nature study ( I find blogs and use their ideas)
We also learn about art appreciation as well as music composers.
We also bring in unit studies for when they really take an interest in a specific topic.
I just got my kiddos their book we will be using from amazon for 500.00 for the next two yrs. so all I have to worry about is basics printer ink paper pencils etc.
As for testing these companies offer test books but I don't use them we go forward after we know they totally get it. One thing awesome about using charlotte mason method is you always review as you go on!! Hope this helps!!

We're starting this in the fall with my son. He'll be in K! I cannot wait! I hear nothing but wonderful things about it :-)
