Ladies I have look all over the net for some question on this novel without any happen so I am going to try to come up with some , so more then other months if you have any question about the month 's book please ask them.
first question I always wonder on a book for any book club is if the other readers enjoy it. So ladies did you like the book? I really enjoy it . It keep me wondering what was going to happen next. And what had happened to Jeremy father and uncle
Ladies who read last years book did you enjoy last years Levi's Will or this years Bad Ground most? For me this is a hard question because they are both us good. I think I will say Levi's Will though. I like the female characters in it more then the two in here.
This book speak allot about the power of forgiveness , Why do you think it so important , and to you think it is more important for you or the person you are forgiving I think it a very healing thing for both people but in some case more for the person who needs to do the forgiven . This is so because angry has a way of turning back on it self and destroy that person life. He or she can not move on until the pass is forgiving the more deep the hurt the more this in true.
What do you think Jeremy mother was talking about when she wrote Jeremy could give his uncle something she could not give him , and Aiden had something to give him that she could not give her soul I think the thing that Aiden give Jeremy was not only the details of what happen to his father but he help Jeremy become a man. Jeremy give Aiden the forgiveness that his mother found impossible to give him when last she see him.

Do you think that after the book Jeremy and Kearston get marriage I would love to see it happen
What do you think a happen if anything after the book end between Aiden and swan I think they became a couple once they both get over their shyness.
Would me to add another of his book on the reading list for 2012 I would love to read another book by him with you all

Ladies I found out some interesting this about Dare W. Creamer today and I will post it in another postings in this heading.
"God often hides the greatest gifts in the darkest places." I find that quote from the other post to be very encouraging for me personally. I've been experiencing some trying times over the past year and I'm nowhere close to being out of the woods. At the same time, I can honestly say that I continue to draw stength from God like never before.
I really enjoyed the story 'cause I was anxious to find out what it was that Jeremy was going to learn from his uncle. I also liked reading about the male characters and their world there at the mine. I almost felt like a fly on the wall.
I have to say ditto to what you said on forgiveness. You hit the nail on the head.
I think another thing Aiden and Jeremy gave each other was a sense of family.
I started to read Sutter's Cross, but wasn't able to get into it so I will pass on reading it if it gets on the list.
I thought Cramer only wrote two books. My bad. I just looked on another website and saw that he's written about five so far. Yes, I would like to read something else that he's written (other than the above-mentioned book).
Will keep that in mind when I write up the chooses for next year reading list.
I liked this book. I thought the characters were well developed and believable. It gave you a taste for what Snake and Jeremy's daily life would be like as deep rock miners--the danger, harshness (hard physical work, that the hole was being dug next to the dump and waste water treatment plant), camaraderie and interaction between miners, social events such as hunting and fishing. Wow, it did make me claustiphobic and nervous the time Jeremy was trapped in the hatch in front of the machine and almost crushed.
It seemed very real that Jeremy's mother didn't forgive Snake for her husband's death. Yet, she really seemed to be blaming his for having his brother following him into mining rather than farming. She did not know the circumstances to his death nor seem to want to. I thought it was a beautiful par tat the end when Jeremy said he was speaking to Aiden on behalf of his dad and himself and told him he forgave him and only wanted him to be happy. It did make me think of God, His plan of redemption and what it cost Him and God's love for us.
At the end of the novel, I was disappointed to see Jeremy continuing to mine. I think it was the mom in me wanting Snake or his girlfriend to encourage Jeremy to get his GED and go to college to become an engineer.
I thought the Biggins was a very realistic character. What do you do with someone at work (or in a similar setting where you can't get away from him/her) that is mean spirited and unreasonable towards you. For example, Biggins was always losing his toolbox and then yelling at Jeremy to find it and always calling him Germy. I really felt for Jeremy early in the book when Biggins made him dig a long trench 20 some inches deep in the hot Georgia sun when there was machinery that could do it in less time. Also, I thought it was comical that when they seemed to be beginning to get along that he asked Jeremy to get his chair with the crane and then Jeremy ran over it. I was happy that after being stuck in the hatch that Biggins made him the name plate for his helmet.
