I can not found a list of discussion question on this book and I just have a few that come to mind so please if you have any question please add to the discussion.
Did you like the book ? Yes I enjoy it
Did you learn anything new about Ruth ? No I had read the book once before
Which of the short stories of her life did you found most interesting? I love all the stories she write about her prodigal son Franklin, the pray for him thanking God for the good things about him truly touch my heart. I closed the book and thank God for he good things about my prodigal son Jeff when I read it.
I did a search on Amazon and found out Ruth write other books would you read some else by her ? Yes
I wasn't able to read the book, but I found several at the library that her husband wrote. I ended up checking out one called Answers to Life's Problems, but it was printed in 1960 so it's an old book. I prefer reading the more currently written books. There are some sections of the book I'm interested in reading, such as the one called, How Should We Read the Bible? Just thought it'd be interesting to see what he says. He's got a scripture index at the end of the book for all the verses he referenced, which I've never seen in any other books.
Yes he has a lot of older books out there but still they usual hold up pretty well because of what they are base on not changing like a book on space travel might think the last one he write is Nearing Home Life , Faith and Finishing Well put out last year.
I haven't read this book but I used to get a magazine from the Billy Graham Association and the last page was always something written by Ruth - it may even have been stories taken from this book. One story that has always stuck with me was her story about the coat. She and her friend were at university and decided to eat in the cheaper dining hall instead of the nicer dining hall where they had been eating because they wanted to give the difference in price between the two dining halls to a fellow student who appeared to be in real need. They were donating money to the student anonymously and one day they saw the student wearing a beautiful coat that neither Ruth nor her friend could have afforded. Ruth was angry and asked herself why she was scacrificing to help this student who seemed to be better off than she was. Then she heard God ask her "Are you doing this for her or for Me?" Ruth admitted that she was doing this out of love for God. And from them on whatever the other student had never bothered her.
I have never forgotten this story and have asked myself that question several times over the years.
