Sticky Jar Lids

It's frustrating trying to open a lid that's stuck to a jar of molasses, maple syrup, honey or flavored extracts like vanilla, and chicken or beef bouillon paste. This can be prevented by dipping a small piece of paper towel, (or your impeccably clean fingertip) into a bit of vegetable oil and wipe the threads of the jar. The bare film of oil prevents the lis from sticking so it will be easier the next time you open it.

Good preventative measure!

However, if you're like me and haven't done that, running your sticky jar lid under hot water will dissolve the sticky and allow you to open your jar.
