about Chicago.
My son was at the hotel pool and he was mingling with a few of the children ---they asked where he was from and William told them.
They had big wide eyes and asked how dangerous it was.
What is you all's perception of Chicago?

Some people recognize the light but they can't handle the glare.
They really do---my son was embarrassed. But you have to think about all the stories that the national news has gotten recently. The Fenger HS beating death, Jennifer Hudson's family, the police officer beating the woman in the bar- the young son of 2 police officer's killed protecting the girl on the bus by Julian, Tionda and Diamond girls that are missing.
My neighborhood is quiet for the most part----but the perception that people have about Chicago seems to be like I we feel about Detroit of Compton.

Exactly, it's all about what the media puts out there. Focusing on all the negatives I would be scared to go anywhere lol And that's true about Detroit and Compton lol I'm sure all those neighborhoods aren't bad either but when that's all you hear about, it's what you expect. As far as Chicago though, the only positives they really show are The Taste, sometimes the shows and programs on the Mag Mile, etc. There is so much more to it.

First thing I think of is Folk Nation. Caprini Greens. And the candy man movie.
It's not all bad though. Isn't the First Lady from there and isn't that where they had choose to raise their girls before their trip to washington DC? So the crazy politics come to mind but seriously. Chi town has Obama so you win anyways.
Quoting Dana267:WEll-----I don't like Philly. LOL
