I'm getting the iud (mirena) put in. And my doctor says it goes near the uterus so it can't really hurt his penis! She says she trusts it she uses it her self.go online and it will tell u a lot. Is your doctor a gyn. They tend to know more bout the pros and cons

I have had Mirena for 2 years this month. No issues during sex (when I was having it). He has said that he could feel the little string but it didn't hurt him he said it tickled.

I don't use any birth control because I have a tubal but I just wanted to say be careful about which pill u choose, with all of the side effects. I see too many commercials, here, about recalls and settlements because the pills ended up doing more harm than good. sorry, Don't mean to be such a downer.....good luck!

you should listen to your doctor. IUD's work well for some and horribly for others (causing infertility). none of the prescription or surgical procedures are hormone free. and unfortunaely, noone knows the downside until about 10 years after the product is out. go with the tried and true birth control pill. it's real easy to pop a pill everyday rather than put your fertility at risk. put it next to your deoderant or toothbrush so you don't forget.
