The May 21, 2012, cover of Time (Time)

This week's Time magazine cover features Jamie Lynne Grumet, a 26-year-old woman breastfeeding her three-year-old son. Grumet was one of four mothers photographed by Time for a cover story on "attachment parenting," an approach--outlined by 1992's "The Baby Book" by Dr. Bill Sears--that recommends extended breast-feeding, co-sleeping and "baby wearing." Time's cover line for the May 21 issue asks, "Are You Mom Enough?"

wow, looks funny. Can u relate?

Somewhat. I dont cosleep by choice. But if we happen to fall asleep on the couch so be it. I nurse but once my babys get teeth to the bottle they go. I want mine to be independent. I dont want a 3yo hanging off of me.

No. I refuse to nurse for that damn long. In the US there is no need to nurse till a child is in preschool and definitely not till they are in grade school.

I wouldn't do it but I see nothing wrong if others choose to do it.

I wouldn't do it, but I won't knock anyone who does.  One of my husband's uncles was nursed until he was 5 or 6 and he turned out just fine...I think.  LOL

Yes my son is nearly two and a half and he's still being breast feed. But as for the picture I think it looks gross because to me breast feeding is a beautiful thing and should be done with more dignity and respect than what I see portrayed in this picture. But I can relate to breast feeding a toddler.
