On friday (6/22) an associate told me that her brakes were wearing down and she needed me to take her to one of her catering gigs (this is the same day she was selling her dinners outside which range from $8 to $12) on Saturday (6/23). Since she helped me out on some great advice for my son's snowball business I agreed. When Saturday came, she did not need me to help her because the lady whom she was catering for was picking her up.
On Sunday (6/24), I was talking to her on the phone about meat prices because I know she cooks and is trying to watch her cost. She told me that one day I would have to take her because she does not know how to get there. She tells me that most likely it is her brake line and she cant drive her car at all and that she does not have any money to fix. She also stated that she was thinking about taking the car to the junkyard because she is tired of putting money in it. She told me she caught the bus to take care of some business. We continued to talk and laugh and I asked her what was for dinner. She told me she did not have anyway of getting to the market to get something, she does not have any food, no money and she will not hav anything for dinner. I knew she had some money because she sold dinners on friday. So i said walk to the market in your area which is only about 7 blocks away. Something just didnt seem right about this conversation.
So today is Monday and while I was out and about I saw this same woman in the same car that is suppose to have an issue with at first the brakes and then the brake line. lollll. I got out of my car and went to speak to her. She asked me for the number to the cheap meat spot because she was trying to make something happen and I gave her the business card. I am just so glad that God made sure that I saw what she was trying to manipulate me with her sad tales. that is one of the reasons why i dont deal with too many people because in my experience they got a lot of sh** with them.
Background story: Some time ago, she told me she has a subsidized apartment and only pays $83 per month in rent (in Maryland, people with low income can get assistance with gas and electric). Her income is about $600 per month, she gets foodstamps and medical assistance (she volunteered this information). She once told me that she was able to get one of those free phones.
In the past, she has told me on several occasions that she does not have any money which does not make any sense to me from what she has told me about her bills .
Just being curious? How do you know that she didnt use her money to get her brakes fixed?

I guess because of previous stories she has told me and now this, it has caused me to raise an eyebrow.

Ok, now that is clearer for me. See when I read it I assumed that the Sunday you were speaking of was last week and not yesterday Sunday, because you mentioned Friday after Sunday. So this makes sense, some people are just funny acting or don't have the know how to build healthy relationships. I believe the latter is more common than not.
