Can you take them with you? We don't have power at home and DS camp was closed because they didn't have power either. Of course my job would have power. I was hesitant about taking him but couldn't leave him home all day without power. I literally snuck him in. Lol It worked!!! Because of the nature of my job, bringing your child is against policy but most of my coworkers understood and just said be careful and make sure "they" (supervisors) don't see him. I must say he was really quiet and well behaved (which was expected). Hope I never have to do it again though. So, is your job
"kid friendly"? Have you ever had to take your kid for an unscheduled emergency? How'd it go?

I work in a secure building on a secure floor. If I forget my badge the guards will act like they've never seen me before. You have to scan in and out of every door and the guards make sure each person scans. My Bro works for the same company and still can't get in my building. So...no. There's no way.

How old is your son? Even if I somehow snuck him in, my 3 yr old would tear the place up in minutes.

Damn that's some top flight security ish. Lol
Yeah I threaten my son with death. He's 11, sit down, shut up and breath light.

Girl it's crucial.  My badge works on three floors, because I have files on those floors, but people from those floors can't come see me to ask a question.  The elevators won't light up until someone has badged in and if there are three people and the guard doesn't see three flashes, he'll go through the computer to see who didn't badge and make them go back.  Crazy.

Lol @ breathe light!  When I worked in a different building, anytime we had overtime this girl would bring her 11 year old...he'd just play his psp or sleep.  My son would have been running up and down the aisles, knocking stuff over I'm sure.  Lol.

My oldest was raised at my job. He went with me all the time from age 4 to 11 and my middle child did the same from 3 to 6. Now that our office is also a secured site, no kids are allowed.

Ericka, I feel you. I have to swipe to get into the parking lot, wait for a gate to open, wait for a metal rail to disappear into the ground, swipe at the main door, swipe on the elevator, and then swipe at the entrance on my floor. I have worked for the company for 14 years, been in the same department for 10 years, but once I forgot my badge & it took over an hour for me to clear security.

Wow a whole hour! While I would have wanted to get upset I understand. Better safe than sorry.

yes, i'm the legislative director for a state agency for women's issues, so it's definitely kid friendly. i usually work from home if i have a conflict, but sometimes i have to go in. she been coming to the office on a regular basis since she was a baby. she also goes w/me to the Capitol, dinners/functions and works the room like a pro. the Speaker of the House always does magic trips for her, and a lot of the politicos work her into their speeches if she's in the room - the 1st time they did it, she was 2 and yelled "mommy, why do they keep saying my name."

1 mom liked this
Lmao a tattoo shop is not kid friendly at all. But I have snuck her in a couple times. I'll take her with my apprentice and have her hide out in the break room. No one ever uses it lol. But since I got caught they put her to work with our receptionist lol. She's a pretty good secretary for a 5 year old xD
