Every athlete's performance is affected by what they eat. From breakfast to dinner and all the snacks in between, they need to consider what they're eating and how it'll affect their body. Your kids' diets are important too! Today, think about how you encourage your kids to eat healthy food.

Here are some snack ideas for your kids:

  • Apple slices
  • Ants on a log: Spread peanut butter on celery sticks and top with raisins
  • Watermelon
  • Smoothies: Get some fresh fruit and put it in the blender
  • Trail Mix: Lots of different options, start with nuts, dried fruit, pretzels, sunflower seeds
  • Sliced carrots
  • Crackers & cheese

What are your kids favorite snacks? How do you encourage healthy options?

We lead by example and always encourage healthy eating for our kids. They love fresh fruit, crudités with a Greek yogurt dip and cheese sticks.

They love fruit and making fruit smoothies. They also make a sort of parfait with, greek vanilla yogurt, rolled oats, granola and fresh fruit. You add a little milk and les set in the fridge over night if it's too thick.
