It appears that the "plug" that turns my compressor on went bad. The part cost $120 and he charged me $80 to put it on. It only took him 30 minutes, from the time he got here, fixed it and wrote up my bill. I'm just SO glad that it wasn't the unit itself, I didn't think it was. I actually thought that it just needed frion. The first two people I called sounded kinda shady so I went with word of mouth from a friend and got a black man to fix it. I love supporting black businesses and he was efficient and professional.
Glad to hear it wasnt that costly.
And I am blessed bc dh is very handy and I know we have saved thousands of dollards over these years worth of house repairs.
We all have to eat and make a living but repair/handy men will get over in a hearbeat. Especially if they know that you dont know...
Glad it's fixed and wasn't too costly.
I have the plumber here today installing a new water heater..Last month one heater went out and i contemplated having both water heaters replaced but opted to just due one since the other was working fine..Wouldn't you know the other one goes out a month later..I should have done both when the first one went out.. :(
Girl, now I see that I need to find a man that's a jack of all trades. LOL

Girl, it sucks sometimes being a homeowner. All those costly repairs...lol I'm feeling you on the repairs. It sucks that the other one waited until now to mess up. However the good thing is that you have the money to get it fixed.

Sounds like when the AC man came to replace a part on my unit. It was still under warranty but I just had to pay service and labor. Why was the damn labor $75 for him to unscrew some kind of tube and replace said tube and rescrew? I told dh he's in the wrong profession, but AC is a must!!!
Glad it wasn't the unit, cuz those things are super expensive to replace.
