I'm so tired of the racial divide.....is it me or did it get worse with the first AA President?

You know I'm so tired of the BS surrounding the upcoing election.  I'll be so glad when it's over.  It hurts to know that I have 2 children that have to deal with bullshit because of the color of their skin.  Then it bothers me because race has reared it's ugly head again with the Zimmerman case.  It's sickening and disheartening.

I remember when my kids were small and I had to deal with the race thing and cried because I realized that I had to explain to my kids why people look down on them.  Not because they did something to them, but because their skin is darker.  It's frustrating and it angers me.  I hope those people that are spewing those mean and hurtful things are ready when judgement day comes.

I don't know if its gotten any worse around here but I do know that it has always been an issue. Growing up with my white mom I was always looked at funny by white people and African Americans. I've even had darker skinned women tell me that I was stealing all the good black men (even though I'm black) and they said I thoughtI was prettier and better than them just because i was light skinned. I just ignore it. I hate the drama and judgment. I'm not too sure how I will explain things like this to my daughter.

I think you got a point I did not read your post but I read your question and I will try to get back to later, for a better response.

I think that it has always been there but with the "PCness"  of the last 10-15 years or so, no one wants to be "PC" anymore.  They are letting it all hang out.

I guess you're probably correct.  Sometimes I wonder why, why God allows things like this to happen.  However I guess on judgement day we'll all know.

It didn't get worse but it became more vocal. As long as we stayed in our place there wasn't an issue but then came Barack and he didn't follow the memo and then we didn't follow the memo by voting for him so now they are doing the only thing they know how to do...talk about our color and even then, with the change in the racial make-up of America, we all recognize their game and aren't falling for their rhetoric so they are screaming louder in hopes that someone will listen. We hear you but we just don't care!

The thing is God doesn't allow it.  People do.  If everyone truly had God in their hearts, stuff like this would not exist.

I agree and it seems since PBO has been in office, ppl (republicans), and those who hate the fact that he is black  just are plain nasty and its embarassing.  Other nations are looking at how they treat our President and laughing ugh.  Republicans are desparate to get back in office and continue what they have done when the bushes were in office, destroy this country just to make their pockets richer ugh.  The insults and downright disrespect for the Presidenct b/c of his color is ugh...................For as long as we aa/blacks have existed, we have dealt with white presidents, their lack of morals and other than complaining once in while, we didn't attack in media how we felt we just lived our lives, vented and moved on. But this outright attack is disheartening.  Regardless of their color, God says to pray for those in leadership.  Like op said judgment day is coming. Is it that hard to love one another and treat each other with respect. [sigh] oops I guess it is [sigh] for some

It hasn't gotten worse, and many of them aren't doing any more than they've been doing. The problem is a whole lot of us got to believing in that bullshit about racism doesn't exist. So even when it was slapping us in the face and calling nigger politely we accepted it bc that's what assimilation taught us to do.
Then here comes Barack H. Obama and has the audacity to not only want to run for president, have the the following and financial ability to do it, be intelligent and have a wife that has both beauty and brains, but is proud to be recognized as BLACK! OMG, how dare he forget his place? His running for office, defying all of those odds not reacting the stereotypical way they presumed he would when put under the light shattered their whole ignorant image of the black man. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know for me when I really think about it I know more educated, hardworking, non record having black men than I do thugs. The former is my idea of black men. They seen his rise as a threat to their America, because even after slavery they held on to the thought that this country was theirs alone and we were just refugees living on their land. Katrina should have told all of us how they truly felt about us, not because of the hurricane but the aftermath of it.
