Chatty Cathy

My son has a tendency at times to tell things I dont want told after I have told him on several occasions not to tell my business. There have been times he has told things I did not want the other side of the family to know. Sometimes I get so pissed that I want to go old school and smack him in his mouth. It seems he talks just to talk like he is trying to impress someone or be accepted. Do any of you have a Chatty Cathy?

Lol dfs nephew. He is 10 years old and he tells all business like it is his own. I just ask him things about school. He has cerebral palsy so it isn't appropriate to whoop him for doing out lol. Its funny to me though cuz he tells all his mamas business.

yes, I do. That is why we watch our mouths around our kids. I don't say anything I would not want them repeating in front of them. That way I don't care if they repeat the stuff that hear. We try to set an example and we don't talk bad about folks, don't gossip, and that way the things they repeat are harmless.

Its not gossip about anybody. Its personal stuff that goes on in our household and some of my business. I do watch what I say and I usually go in my room or outside to have private conversations. Nonetheless everything cant be kept hush hush because like a lot of kids my son likes to listen and has heard things his father and the other side has said.

I'm a "Chatty Cathy" LOL...

But I know how to hold my tongue.

My ds is a "chatty cathy" too...

But I trained him to know when to speak and to know not to ever take my business to the street.

I stopped that madness. My daughter was a quick learn, my son took some work but I stopped him too.

That's true because no child should be putting their parents out there like that...

No...I didn't have to because I put some base in my voice and told him I was getting tired of him running his mouth! We also started to make fun of him and say that we knew he couldn't keep a secret on little things like birthday and christmas gifts so he learned to be quiet because he didn't like that we wouldn't tell him certain things.
