 Let's say that you work in corporate America and your office is mostly non-AAs.  If a young (20s), AA woman who does not report directly to you shows up to work with blue (yes blue) lipstick, do you tell her that it is inappropriate or pretend that she doesn't look like she just gave a smurf a BJ?

 For the record, I told her not to wear that ish anymore b/c it did not look good on her, reminded her that blue lips usually means death and advised her that "dead" will describe her career if she keeps wearing ish like that to work.

Yeah, I would've had to have a conversation with her on professionalism and explain that while it is okay to match your koolaid blue lipstick with your jeans on Friday night for the bar, it doesn't go over so well in the work place!

I don't know....I think I'd maybe bring it up, like "Nobody's said anything to you about the color of your lipstick?". Just as long as she ain't tryin to talk me into believing its hot, I'm good.
