What's your signature dish?

Posted by   + Show Post

Do you have one dish that you're famous for among your friends and family? Is that the only thing you cook/bake well?

For family gatherings I usually get picked to make the pork greens (DH's cousin makes the greens for the non-pork eaters).  I'm also known for my zucchini bread.

I have a few other things that I make pretty good, but DH is a much better cook than I am.  I either need a recipe or a lot of experience making something before it's good.  He's able to just throw things together until they taste good.

Quoting KymberleeAnn:

My home made carrot cake with home made cream cheese frosting.

You sent me that recipe, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.  Thanks for reminding me!

Anything that takes 8 hours to cook better be good!  One of my issues with cooking is I'm usually not willing to take the time required to make something really good.

I have a known habit of when I'm distracted I burn all the food so my dh, kids and step kids learned to leave me alone while I'm cooking so they have good food.
So I started google and youtubin hard recipes so I could get some quite me time for an hour or two while I cooked.

Moms are so sneaky..
