In another group, I read a reply by a white woman stating that black immigrants, especially the ones from Africa, "are much nicer and more motivated than African Americans." It seems as if she wanted African Americans to be more like their immigrant "counterparts." This brought to mind a doctor in a suburb very close to where I live. He was from Kenya had a strong oppositional opinion of American Blacks. There's a historical sense that black Americans are disrespected by immigrants.
My thought is that most all of the Africans that I know or have met are doing well, in very responsible positions and seem to be productive people. I don't know a lot of native Africans so I am only speaking of a very limited number of people. Does anyone have any insight into this?
