I was talking to my mom today about somebody and she said "umm I wonder what she done put on his ass" I naturally thought she meant "put it on his" so I was like eeew really ma. Her response was I'm talking about ROOTS.

I was shocked because all these years I never thought my mother actually believed in that stuff. So I was quite surprised.

Do you believe in it?

I personally do not believe in roots. However I do think if a person believes in it then it will work on them.

Another way of saying "voodoo" or a "curse".

It only works if you are a believer.

That's the same thing DF said.

I personally don't know what I feel about it. One part of me feels like its all bs and a way to explain the unexplainable.

But then I also feel like if prayer is powerful enough to work... It just might be possible.

I think its a heavy belief in the south period. My dads family is from florida and they believe to the extreme that its real.

When my dad married his wife, my grandmother spent hella money running to "the root worker" tryna get them off her son. I was just like wow... Really gma.
