We lost power at 415pm on Oct 12th and didn't get power back until Oct 19th at 430pm. It was 1 week on the head.
I was pregnant and having major issues. My 2 yrs old BIG 2 birthday was October 14th LOL. We were in one of the hardest hit areas. We went out to dinner and it was lil snow, came out lil more. By 9pm my husband was driving by the house since Schwan's was still running to make sure we were ok. We have electric blowers on the heat so no heat except. The lady that built the addition before us, put in a separate heater in the back so we cracked it to high and it kepted the downstairs at 80 and the upstairs at like 60-65. So it was well worth it, won't hear us bitch about that stupid heater ever again LOL here are the pictures I took .... from our house. Ok The timeline shows how its not sticking here in kenmore then BOOM it stuck and stuck LOL .... The street Pics my road is parking on both sides and 2 lanes of traffic..... to give you an idea of how narrow..... Clean up by the STATE or COunty whoever the slow butts were took 1 week here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

by eviljaxxie on Nov. 12, 2008 at 12:25 PMOh I remember the October storm. My husband and I had power and everything. We just stayed in and stocked up on food items that morning. It was also the same morning Hubby and I got married too. I was also 3 1/2 months pregnant with my son. Wasn't much of a story to tell, lol. It's just that Hubby and I remember it everytime our anniversary comes around. Interesting. |

by scrap728 on Nov. 13, 2008 at 6:50 PMOnly a few days without electricity....In the upper part of my house I have an inlaws apt upstairs used for company when they visit from out of town...totally furnished with everything...looks like someone lives in it. The apt is smaller than downstairs so my husband and I turned on the oven and cooked all the food I had in boxes in the freezer..like pizza rolls, etc...called my neighbors and we ate all the finger foods and sat around and talked about the weather...I didn't lose any food because whenever freezer packs were on sale at the dollar store, etc...I bought a few and they were in between all the meat in my freezer and kept everything from defrosting. The smaller apt kept us warm as long as I had the oven on...did lots of baking cookies, etc..I'm always prepared food wise in case of emergencies and it finally paid off to be well stocked with candles, etc.....found out that when you buy candles for an emergency buy the tall church like ones as they last longer than the other ones. |
