Good morning, ladies! I'm very excited to see all you have done with "trash!" I'm an active "garbage picker" as my dh calls it. I try not to embarass him too much, but sometimes I can't help myself! I'm always on the lookout for things I can repurpose, usually for my garden. My name is Lisa, I live in KY and am a SAHM to 2. Looking forward to seeing you projects, I'll post pics soon.

Hi all...
I am so glad to have stumbled upon this group.......THIS IS MY LIFE!!!!
YIPPEEEEE!!!
In all seriousness...I have stopped on the side of the road, "curbed side shopped", "dumpster dived" loaded my car to the point of looking like the Beverly Hillbillies were rollin' into town!
I've refinished pieces that I've either decorated/furnished my entire home with and/or have sold at the markets...and I'm proud to say that I've made an actual living out of this!
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one...LOL!
Hope to be chatting w/ you soon!

Quoting lavonnaseyer:
Hi, my name is LaVonna Seyer. I live in Texas. I have a son which is 3 months old, and I have been married to my husband Cessna for 2 1/2 years. He is in the army and I am just a house wife.
No such thing as "just a housewife"! That's one of the most coveted jobs in the world! I would love be a stay homemom! You have a wonderful "job" and a great opportunity to spend time with your son and take care of your family.

Hello everyone! I'm Melissa, but I prefer Lissa for short.
I'm the wife of a wonderful handyman, mother of an amazing son, Mason, a lovely step daughter, Breana, and my youngest step daugher, "Princess" Brooke. Mason, 11 years old, Breana 15 yrs old live here with us and my hubby on the Outer Banks of NC. My beautiful step daughter Brooke, lives with her wonderful mother in WV.
I am known at our local Home Depot and Lowes as the "Oops Paint Lady". I can't go into HD without going through the paint dept and checking to see what they have in the "Oops" paint. For those who don't know what that is, it's paint that's been special tinted and returned because it didn't match or the customer didn't like it, or the paint didn't match the swatch, etc.
I have also been known to "street shop" and "dumpster dive". My mind runs 90mph and when I see something on the curb side, I can't help but stop and check it out! I don't get time to go to yard sales very often, but I find thrift stores to be a great place to find "treasures". My husband calls me "Fred Sanford" because I'm such a pack rat..... I can't haul the garbage to the dump without coming home with a treasure of some sort! I can't help it! I'm addicted! LOL!

Good morning ladies! I am Ellie (ChocosMom), the mother of two grown children and the Nana of four. I have a Chocolate Lab and a mostly white cat and live alone in a small town in NC. I am so excited about finding this group. I have been called everything from the "Dumpster Lady" to the "Bag Lady" and have totally enjoyed repurpousing trash that I have found on the side of the road or in the dumpsters. It got so bad when I lived in another town, a friend of mine and I would take his van and go the day before trash day to some of the more "exclusive" neighborhood and get some of the best stuff!!!!! I have a lot of things in my home that I have made from other things and like many of us (I imagine) have fixed up things I have found and sold them at flea markets and even craft fairs! I am big on the environmental aspects of reusing things and try my best to recycle everything. I even use grocery bags to stuff between things when I mail boxes to friends and family. I look forward to sharing ideas and seeing projects that you folks have done.

Hi my name is Christine and I have a 9 month old son and I am trying to finish up my Master's degree by distance. We just moved out to the LA area over the summer for a job, prior to that we were in Wisconsin for grad school and Florida before that (where we both grew up). We also spent some summers in Washington state.
Anyhow, I grew up going to yard sales and thrift stores and looking at other peoples trash. I have always loved finding hidden treasures. Now that I am more interested in the environment I am also trying to find creative ways to reuse things too so I don't throw as much stuff out. I even started a local freecycle group to see if I can pass along some of my "trash" that is still in good shape.
I love reading the Daily Danny blog to get ideas for how to reuse stuff. I am sure I will share some of the stuff I see on his blog with you all cause I just get so excited by some of the projects. I am glad to have found this group cause I thought I was gonna have to create my own group and I really didn't want to have to start another group.
