my DD was born 9 lbs 6 oz and was 21 and a half inches long. Now she is 7 months and shes about 29 inches tall and around 21 pounds. She is purely breastfed and we have not really started any solids aside from the occasional sweet potatoe, pumpkin, carrot feeding here and there. whenever family sees her they always mention how skinny she has gotten, or how skinny she is. or how shes TOO skinny. I thought she was a good weight, he pedi hasnt said anything. but i was just wondering.

here's a recent picture.

I think she's a good size.  My 14 mo son was just at the pedi and he was 23lbs and 31 inches, which put him solidly in the 50% for both.  He started out 8lb 8 oz. So I think your baby girl is just fine!

She looks fine to me. My daughter was 29 1/2 inches long and 16 lbs 10 oz at her 12 month appointment. She has a similar build to your baby. Healthy as can be. Dr seems a bit concerned but I'm only 5'2" and 125lbs. DH is 6ft and not fat either. I think she is just going to be a peanut.

My DD is 1 and only 19lbs and 27 in, I think your LO is perfect.  It sounds to me like they aren't being supportive of your choice to EBF, without coming right out and saying it.

lol... Its crazy what people think is too skinny!

My son (who is also EBF) is 11month, is 29in and weighs 20lb 8oz (just weighed last week).  And he is at the 50% for boys.  Clearly not underweight.

Here is a link to a growth cahrt for BFed babies: http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/growth/chart3.html

According to the chart, she is in the 80%.  not underweight by any means! =P

She looks great...my daughter is 27 months on the 4th, and barely 20lbs and she was EBF until about 9 months or so...

From birth til now she has gained at the minimum 6.6 oz just from those 2 weights..norm is 5-7oz a week til 4 months then goes down to 4-5 oz a week til around 6 months, sounds like your daughter is tall and so she LOOKS thinner.  She doubled her birthweight by 6 months and then some...she is FINE!

She weighs more than my 19 month old LOL

My 19 month old has never been on the charts. She is 19 months and about 19lbs and 31 inches. I wouldn't worry! your baby has nice chubby little legs : )

I am a Canadian, breastfeeding (it IS best, there is nothing even close to that nutrition and bond), co sleeping, extended rear facing (if you don't rear face to the maximum of your seat, you're NOT doing all you can to protect your child), baby wearing, Non spanking (I want my kids to respect me, not fear me) ANTI- CIO, homemade baby food making, cloth diapering, organic (chemical free household!) recycling mama to TWO! My husband is my equal and best friend, not my master and I believe basic health care should be a human RIGHT, not a privilege.
