I was at my Weight Watchers meeting the other day and we were doing a mock Thanksgiving feast. I went up in front and filled my "plate" with what I will eat at Thanksgiving and the leader kept count. Well, it all totaled up to 35 points! (Yes, that pumpkin pie was 9 points alone :) Anyway, I just commented that my plan would be to not eat anything else that day and only my Thanksgiving feast and I would still be within my daily 35 points. Everyone gasped and asked me how the heck do I get 35 points a day?! I told them that I nurse and that alone gives me 10 extra points (500 calories) extra a day. I got a ton of "I wish I was nursing" comments and I told them that I may do this forever just to be able to eat more food! This of course was semi sarcastic; I obviously don't breastfeed just because I get to eat more, but I thought it was pretty funny to see the reactions of everyone. It's just one of the added perks of exclusively breastfeeding! :)
Oh, and here's a shameless pix post of my 17 pound 4 month old exclusively breastfed baby! :)
